Colorado River: Newcastle to Silt January 26th

by joey on Jan.27, 2008, under Fly Fishing

Paul Zimmerman gave me a call Thursday and wanted to float the Lower Colorado this weekend in search of some Rainbow action. The weather was sunny and 45 as predicted (for once) and the fishing was soild for a January day. We boated around a dozen fish in the 7 mile float and got a little exercise on the oars. Here are a few shots.

Colorado Brown Trout Perfection

by joey on Jan.22, 2008, under Fly Fishing

Beautiful Brown image from Xstream Anglers in Washington. I ran into these guys a few years ago up on the Yampa. I can’t be sure but it looks like this fish may have come from there. I got tore up by a brwon that looked just like that and I can still see its colors from time to time roaming the tailwater. I got this shot from Washinton Fly Fishing forum.
