Lake Trout: Almost Record

John Geiger, of Rockton, Illinois, caught this enormous lake trout on July 11, out of Tazin Lake, which is located in the northwest corner of Saskatchewan, Canada. The fish was 50 inches long with a 33 1/2-inch girth. Its estimated weight, 70 pounds, puts it just 2 pounds shy of the all-tackle record. It hit a silver-and-blue T-55 flatfish lure

Roaring Fork: Basalt Bomber

Amos and I fished the Roaring Fork for a while Yesterday, The weather didn’t know what it wanted to do. First it was sunny, then wind, then snow, then sun…etc. The fishing wasn’t great but we did manage a few small browns and a bomber Rainbow Trout. Black Mirco Mayfly Nymphs pierced the lip of this beauty.


Roaring Fork: Carbondale To West Bank

Floated the Roaring Fork from Carbondale to West Bank today. Prince, Eggs and micro mayflies produced action all day. Although the fatty of the day came on the Paul Zimmerman Olive Fluro Fiber Midge. Say that 5 times fast.
