Alaska Rainbow Trout: Lake Creek Reminiscing
I know it is offically winter when I am going through old pictures and re-living events of the past. Lately I have been on an Alaska kick. Something about that state, which I cannot describe, seems to be ….. I dont know. I have only been there once and really hope to get up there again. Maybe this summer but right now that seems to be light years away. A couple summers ago we were in Lake Creek Fly Fishing for Rainbows. Really a cool spot. Slept in small cabins on the Yentna River, drank moonshine, saw Aurora Borealis and railed the crap out of trout. More Here

What gets you excited about these trips is generally the fishing and the remote destinations. But, when you think back about it what you remember is the camaraderie with the group. Like fishing with your dad and then watching him fall off the deck after too much moonshine. Laughing around the dinner table at night. Making new friends. Being scared of bears but at the same time wishing to see one. All these things are what I remember from out trip. The fishing was great but the company was better.
