Tailwater Trout Tards: Who Cares
by joey on Sep.07, 2008, under Fly Fishing
Newellsy and I did a float on xyz River last week (name will remain anonymous so I don’t get frowned upon, but if you live in CO you know where it is) and hammered some Giant Bows on dirty San Juan Worms and Big 20 Inchers. There is a section of this anonymous river that holds some giant and I mean giant stockers. But really who gives a shit. Fishing is fishing and it is all fun weather your casting to pesky spring fed trout or giant tards who love big nymphs. Take from it what you will……..but we had a good time. How can you not when there is potential to catch a fish like these.

So they my be lacking the survival gene but these fish rip like any other trout. As soon as you set the hook your line peels off the water leaving a hissing sound and your gut in butterflies.
