Eagle River: Caddis Love

Woke up bright and early this morning, grabbed some caffine, and plopped the boat in the water. Jason met me at the ramp and we shoved off just before the Caddis Hatch. 100 yards from the ramp Jason had one take his day and missed it. Then again….then again. “Dammit Newellsy I am sticking you on the oars if you keep missing em” I shouted. We rolled down the Eagle casting to risers all morning. Things started to slow down as we neared the take out but we had plenty of chances.

  1. Joey,

Jason just sucks!!! I needed to give him more lessons before I left. I was going to ask if he still puts the line in his mouth to fight fish, but if he can’t hook them in the first place then I just answered my own question.

    And he is a guide?????

    Zim.

  2. The eagle is hot right now Zimm gotta get that tank up here and float it. You still coming up next weekend? Things are finally shaping up. Ill give jason Hell for ya.

  3. Joey,

Sasha and I are coming up friday. We will be staying at Brads in New Castle. We will float the the lower C on Saturday and then Sunday is still up in the air . I would like to do the Fork, but who knows. My buddy Brad has been floating Dino to Silt alot because he says it is unbelievable right now. I still am keeping my boat in New Castle. I want to leave it there for a while.

I hope that we can get to float together next weekend. SWork on Jasons fishing skills!

    Zim
