Montana Fly Fishing Outfitters: The Stonefly Inn
by joey on Aug.18, 2009, under Fly Fishing
For the past 12 days RA Beattie and I have been between Dillon & Twin Bridges Montana working on a promotional film for the Stonefly Inn. With good reports of the “Grasshopper hatch” going off we drove 11 hours North in hopes of good fishing and filming. Of course once we got there a cold front moved in and made everything a bit off and a bit challenging. Rooster had some spots up his sleeve and with his knowledge and the help of some great guides we were able to have a fantastic time. We got some amazing dry fly eats on film and landed some amazing Brown Trout. If you are considering a trip to Southwest Montana I would highly recommend the Stonefly Inn, the staff and guides are outstanding. And you cannot have a bad time at the “Roost” in fact we had so much fun there we had to spend a couple nights sleeping on various couches that we found. Here are some stills that we have taken from the trip. We hope to have the film done by the 1st of September.
