Fly Fishing British Columbia Steelhead: This Is Just Huge

Dave sent me this pic yesterday while doing some Western Steelhead Web Recon and I almost dropped my lunch. Seriously is this too big? Nice fish. LINK

    I think this fish should get classified as something other than a steelhead .. or at the very least a subset species of steelhead .. this is just not something that is realistic for the average steelhead fly fisherman to expect to catch someday … this fish just sets the bar too high .. kinda like when tiger words shows up to a golf tournament .. is there even a reason for anyone else to play? … personally, i think it was extremely selfish of this guy to land this fish .. he could have been the bigger man and for the sake of all steelhead fishermans egos .. he could have snapped it off. that’s what i would have done. NOT.

    unreal now thats one hell of a fish… that needs a new adjective to be made upbecaouse monster, massive , huge , beast just doesn’t cut it…

    Clearly he is having a hard time holding it up. Quick take the picture. Got to be 40+ lbs.
