Busted out the old school Bugmeister down at Wood Cutters (a run on the Eagle River) a few nights back and got this Rainbow to come up out of some skinny pocket water. Guide Mike Holt once told me that these flies should be illegal in the month of October in Maine. He was right, I have used this fly all over and it cleans house. Thanks for the advice Mike.

Met up with Dave Tepper last week and did a little fishing on a remote section of water that I told his friend I would not mention. The fishing was outrageous we landed over 40 fish in under 6 hours the biggest being around 22-24 inches. Dave and his filming/fishing patner Will Benson were in town for the fly fishing film tour and won the award for best fishing with their film Connected. Congrats to both of you and your crew. I look forward to getting down there and chasing bones this winter.
