Release Wild Steelhead
by joey on Feb.26, 2010, under Fly Fishing
This is something that I am passionate about. Releasing Wild Steelhead. There is no other species of fish that I would rather fly fish for. I love everything about it; the elements they reside in as well as the difficulty angling for them. These fish, like Salmon, face a gauntlet of challenges returning to their home waters to spawn. Larger Predators, Seals, Whales, Birds of Prey, Gill Nets, Anglers, Damns, you name it. Konk the Hatcheries but let the wild ones swim away. Sorry for sounding to preachy but lets enjoy what we have and do our best to keep them around for future generations. Rock On!! here is a little clip I threw together for my man Brazda. The fish in the opening clip is a brut from An Upper Columbia tributary that out ran some kind of predator to make it back to its home river. Long Live The Wild Ones.
