Washington Steelhead: Never Been Kissed

Ok we’re back from the Northwest with stories to tell, some true and some not. We did however get down and dirty with some Summer Run Steel. we got them to rise to a couple dries and I even got one on the swing….my first swung Steelhead. Pretty Killer. Here are a couple shots of a few we touched. Not alot of pics were taken due to the do not take out of the water rule. The fish you see here are Hatchery Run and had to be conked….rules are rules. Video soon to come.

  1. J,

Don’t know if you heard of the passing of Mel Kreiger 10/7/08. He was cool. I still have the utube that you posted of his Patagonia DVD

Looks like you are doing well. It is almost time for a frozen float down the Fork

  2. Zimm- yeah I did hear the sad news of Mel K. He had a good run. Thats funny that you mention a frozen float, I was looking at my boat this morning all covered in snow and thats exactly what came to my mind. We had a few good days out there. Need to bring more whiskey next time. Talk to ya soon.

  3. I heard the news and was in shock. I was so lucky to spend time with him in Patagonia, and he was a dear friend and incredible person and of course fly fisherman.. we love you Mel and i will miss our cigars and wine together.. Alex
