I met Jeff Brazda over 7 years ago on the Olympic Peninsula, WA. Since then I have fished with Jeff in Montana, Alaska and Florida. There is not another fly fishing guide that I have met like him. He is very passionate about the sport of fly fishing and the conservation surrounding it. Jeff guides on the Olympic Peninsula, WA for Winter Run Steelhead from January to April, Trout on the Yakima River during the summer months then back to Steelhead in the fall. In between all those trips you can find him in a duck blind or on a flats boat.
Greg Bostater, AKA Boz, owns and operates Maine River Guides out of Portland, Maine. Although his address is in the city Boz spends most of his summers living on the Big Eddy in Northern Maine. I have fished for trout and Salmon with Boz all over Maine and Great Lakes Steelhead in NY. He is a fun guy to hang with and can row a boat down some of the nastiest white water you can find. If you want to do a fun Small Mouth Bass trip in Southern Maine Boz has got that covered as well and will have you catching smallies until your arm hurts. Make sure to Book a fly fishing trip with him next time your in Maine eating a Lobster Roll.
Joe Willaure, aka the Vanilla Gorilla, is a buddy of mine out in Twin Bridges MT. Joe is as mellow and cool as they come. A hell of spey caster and trout fisherman. Big Joe rows a boat all over Montana in the summer having his “dudes” throw hoppers for big MT Brown Trout. Once the leaves change Joe has his Two Hander out swinging for summer steel in his home state of WA. Be sure to check out his blog for witty humor and fly tying techniques.
Bob Streb is one of the first fellas I met out here in Colorado. Hell of a nice guy and one of the best Trout Guides in the Vail/Eagle Valley. He has a romance with the Eagle River and knows more dirty spots than he would ever share. I have seen him put is 13 foot outcast in places I thought we would never get out. Bob hangs his hat in Minturn and guides for Minturn Anglers. Bob is a great fly tyer and a lot of his patterns can be seen on his blog bobbertalk amongst other ramblings. Next time you are in the Vail area request Bob for a full or half day float on the Eagle River, and be ready for some surprises.
Josh Mills, another giant man who I always seem to miss on the Olympic Peninsula, is a WA based blogger that loves Steelhead. Josh is always keeping us up to date on the ramblings in the fly fishing industry and hammering steel on a two hander in between. He coordinates benefits for the Wild Steelhead Coalition and makes sure people are having a good time for a good cause. Be sure to check out his blog and look him up next time you are in eastern WA.
The Flyfisher Group is a Colorado based company that has some radical private water and destination trips. I have been working with The Flyfisher Group for the last 4 years doing video creation and in house marketing. Next time you are in Colorado look them up for an unbelievable fly fishing experience.
